Mission Statement and Ethos

Statement from the Kent College Executive Team - 5th June 2020

Dear Girls,

I am sure you are all aware of recent events relating to the murder of George Floyd.  We would like to take this opportunity to say that Kent College stands with its black community. Racism has no place in our school. We have been talking to members of our black community and gathering our thoughts at Kent College, in what has been a difficult and emotional few days.

We understand that we have a responsibility both as individuals and as a wider community to embrace the uncomfortable topic of systemic racism and acknowledge our part in reassessing our approach, asking ourselves the question how can we contribute even more to society in a positive and constructive way on the topic of racism and injustice.

We will continue to listen, learn and work with members of our school community to ensure that anti-racism is a priority within our education.

 Kent College Executive Team –

 Julie Lodrick, Headmistress

Angela Jenkins, Bursar

James Mossman, Deputy Head Academic

Jen Tobin, Deputy Head Pastoral

Nik Pears, Head of Prep
