Futures Day

On Monday 3rd July, we were delighted to welcome 12 members of the wider KC community (Old Girls and Parents) to lead a career pathways leadership day for Yr10, 11 and 12.

Girls were split into professional areas based on their interests and were treated to presentations by leaders in those fields. The leaders had also received the CV's of girls in advance and conducted mock interviews, with the other girls providing feedback.

After lunch, and tours conducted by the girls, the 12 professionals formed a panel to answer the question 'What I wish I'd known when I was at school' and participated in a wider Q and A. Questions ranged from those which focused on how to narrow the gender gap and women reaching the top in their field, to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the impact this is going to have on their future.

The day proved incredibly successful with girls benefitting an enormous amount from the experience and wisdom of the visitors. This will prove invaluable in developing the career mentoring and work experience programme at Kent College.
