Malaga Trip

During October half term, twenty-three girls in years 10 and 11 spent six days learning Spanish in Málaga. The purpose of the trip was to improve their Spanish language skills as well as to experience Spanish life and culture. We arrived in Malaga in the early evening to meet up with our ‘Madres’ for the week. The Spanish ladies who looked after the students spoke no English however by the end of the week all the girls’ were happy conversing in Spanish with their hosts. They also had the chance to meet some local students for a language exchange.

Every morning the girls had language lessons. The lessons were all conducted in Spanish and included some interactive activities such as interviewing local residents, going to the local market or ordering and tasting some churros con chocolate. During the afternoons, we had time to visit the city of Málaga as well as the beautiful towns of Nerja and Frigiliana. We also had time for the beach and plenty of shopping. In the middle of our stay, we went to Granada and visited the world famous Alhambra Palace.

It was a fantastic trip and everyone enjoyed the sunny weather, as well as the culture and the friendliness of the Andalusian people.
