Welcoming our new Deputy Head (Pastoral)

Ms Gaelle Sullivan joins us as our new Deputy Head Pastoral, Head of Boarding and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Ms Sullivan comes from Caterham School where she was the SENDCo and Assistant Head Pastoral.

Ms Sullivan studied Modern Languages at the Université Blaise Pascal in Clermont-Ferrand (France) before starting teaching in the UK. Her Masters dissertation on dyslexia and foreign language learning enabled her to combine her passion for languages and Special Needs provision.

As Deputy Head Pastoral, Ms Sullivan is responsible for the welfare of all the girls in the Senior School and the overall administration and oversight of the pastoral system.  The Deputy Head Pastoral is also Head of Boarding, taking responsibility for the Boarding life of the school. The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the girls across the Prep and Senior Schools at Kent College.

Ms Julie Lodrick, Headmistress said:

“I am delighted to welcome Gaelle to Kent College. She brings with her a wealth of experience from her pastoral roles in previous schools and her approach to nurturing and caring for the girls very much fits with the ethos of Kent College. Gaelle is also a passionate linguist and she will make a valuable contribution to our thriving Modern Languages Department.”

Ms Gaelle Sullivan said

“I am looking forward to joining Kent College as the next Deputy Head Pastoral. Nothing is more important to me than the pastoral care and wellbeing of our students. At Kent College we put them centre and foremost of all we do, and I am excited to become a part of this vibrant school community.”
