About The School
Kent College Preparatory School is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 3 to 11. It shares the same site as the Senior School, a beautiful 75-acre parkland site in Pembury, just 3 miles from Tunbridge Wells.
The Senior School was founded in 1886 by the Wesleyan Methodist Schools' Association. In 1945 the Prep School was established in the centre of Tunbridge Wells and for over forty years the two schools remained on separate sites. In 1989 the Prep School was moved to the current site and a striking architect-designed building was constructed with spacious playgrounds and stunning views over the Kent countryside.
Both the Senior and the Prep Schools are part of a group of independent Methodist Schools which are managed by the Methodist Board for Residential Schools.
The Methodist foundation underpins our caring, Christian community and gives our staff and pupils a clear moral framework in which good manners, discipline and respect for each other are valued. The Schools are interdenominational, welcoming girls of all faiths and backgrounds.
The Prep School pupils benefit from access to shared facilities which include a large well-equipped sports hall, indoor heated swimming pool with small learner's pool, 360-seater state-of-the-art theatre, activities hall, dance studio, tennis and netball courts, hockey pitch, athletics track and dining hall. |
