The housemistresses are lovely and I have had so many amazing memories with the girls in my year as I have got to know them really well. At times I do miss home, but there is so much going on, I never have time to think about it.

I love all the friends I have made here, because KC is relatively small, you tend to know everyone, and I love the countryside which is all around us.

Tell us about boarding:
‘Boarding has really helped me to learn to speak English well and taught me about the culture. It’s fun, you’re always with your friends and you can always have a laugh. When I first came to KC in Year 7, there was so much to do. There are lots of activities and games at the weekends and sometimes in the weekdays as a treat. There’s so much to do I hardly ever get home sick. I started to learn to be organised and independent and how to contribute in a community, such as the boarders band and international evening.’
Tell us about Kent College:
‘I love the fact that not only are we, the students of KC, gaining and achieving constantly, we are also giving back to this community. There are so many events that really bond the school. Such as the Inter-house Music competitions, Sports Day, the yearly sponsored walk and the drama productions. This really helps to build a great team spirit and lasting friendships.’

‘Boarding life is full of exciting and interesting activities and events. Every week something new is happening and you want to take part in everything! I think being part of a team and participating in all the activities makes it easier for me to become a full member of the boarding community. It also helps me to improve my language skills and discover new interesting things about the country, culture and society. I am always keen to learn new things.’
Tell us about Kent College:
‘I love a challenge and coming to KC was a great one for me. Everything was so strange, foreign and scary at the beginning – the language, the culture, the people and the whole concept of school and lifestyle. However, all my doubts disappeared after some time, little by little I got used to it. Studying was quite difficult at the beginning as well but thanks to the support from teachers and friends, it became an enjoyable process for me. When I came here I faced the fact that school is not only about studying. It is a whole life full of interesting stuff. Boarding especially gave me more confidence and, with the support of teachers, helped me to settle in. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere and next to the huge opportunities, that is what I love most of all about KC.’ |
