GCSE Success
Head, Katrina Handford has praised their success and said:
“This Kent College cohort has once again shown all the qualities and characteristics required to excel across the board. They have shown particular resilience following the Covid-19 pandemic, combining hard work with enthusiasm, enabling them to face their exams with confidence and achieve great success. Not only have pupils achieved fantastic grades, but they have scored over and above expectation, based on their national predicted grades. Each and every pupil deserves to feel very proud of their magnificent achievements.”
In our annual teaching and learning survey, students this year identified Maths as the subject which gives them the most confidence in their ability to succeed. It is gratifying to see this born out in this year’s excellent results, with 40% of Maths results being at the highest levels. This follows a successful set of A Level results last week which saw many of our Sixth Form leavers heading to leading universities to study STEM degrees.
Students also achieved the top level 9-7 grades across a range of GCSE subjects including History (72%), Music (71%), Drama (68%) and Food Technology (93%).

Grades only tell part of the story. Most significant is the progress that pupils make a Kent College, where results surpass nationally standardised predictions. The majority of pupils at Kent College achieved at least half a grade higher than predicted in each of their subjects.
